ICW Primary Sources Katherine Wathen
Blog Post: Primary Artifacts
On your blog, post two primary sources (photos, interviews, survey etc.) you are considering for your project to your blog before class on 9/18. These sources should have descriptions and explanations as to how you will collect them and how they might be used to inform/illustrate your community topic.
I am going to interview my grandmother Nonnie, since she knows just about everything about Casey County that there is to know. She grew up there so she would be the perfect primary source to speak to.

This source is I guess considered secondary but this site there’s lots of information about Casey County in relation to genealogy. I can find out where Casey County really started or came from.
I took these photos, I have more I’m trying to look for but I really think these pictures capture the peacefulness of Casey County and it gives you a comforting feeling when you see the photos. Showing these photos can help people get an idea for the feel of this environment, providing just more mental imagery. I will use these to talk about the feelings this place brings. And to bring up how it contrasts to the city, busy-like, community here in Lexington. I haven’t been to Casey County in a while so getting more pictures related to the Church may be harder to find in my camera roll, but I surely have one somewhere which I will also include so that I can show that community in full.
