In this recording he is referring to his school communities, elementary, middle, and high school.

I found the aspect of focusing on his differences and the confidence he has despite the difficulties he faced in school his whole life to be most interesting. He was made fun of for all of his life yet he somehow still stood strong in his differences.

He told the story which was us observing what he went through, then he dove deeper into his thoughts. He learned from his story and shared how through it all he respects everyone with differences and thinks being unique is a great thing, and he encourages readers to do the same.

He gave specific quotes of things said to him, and made comparisons that were relatable to most. He also made the idea of being different, and accepting those differences, very appealing. Reading it made me respect him and my own unique qualities as well.

His reasoning was to do exactly what he did, make people feel comforted about being different. He makes people feel that their likes and dislikes are all valid no matter what others say or what is popular.

“Doing Things My Own Way” I Believe Podcast

In this podcast this guy is talking about the community of his family, specifically his grandfather and how he is similar to him. Also about how this helped to form his community of music making.

I liked how he started with a little story about his grandfather that was leading to the overall idea of doing things his own way. This was a nice way to bring the entire piece together.

This moved from observation to insight by starting off with a story then leading into the bigger picture of why he likes to do things his own way and how he does them.

He used storytelling of his grandfather as his motivation and reasoning for his beliefs, and to try to encourage others to have this mentality.

He wanted to share how doing things differently than instructed can sometimes be a large benefit and he communicated this very well in this podcast.
